The ZeroLandFill Upcycle event is coming up this Saturday and Sunday. This annual event collects samples of fabric, carpet, wall covering, wood, tile, stone, glass, rubber, vinyl, laminate and more to get them out of the waste stream and into the hands of people ready to create new works of art. It’s free and open to everyone!

This event helped divert 21,733 pounds of material from going into the landfill last year. Check out the ZeroLandFill facebook page for event details and examples of things people have upcycled from their finds at last year’s event, including the super cute creatures in the photo.

Have things you’d like to donate? You can drop off on Friday, Sept. 27 at Miller Community Center. They’re also still looking for volunteers to sort things beforehand as well as help out at the event.

Don’t forget – bring bags or boxes to cart your goodies away in!
