In order to maximize the benefits of trees in Seattle, the City is updating citywide policies and regulations relating to trees and the urban forest. This work has resulted in updates of the Urban Forest Management Plan, Street Tree regulations, and Private Property Tree regulations.
City staff will be hosting an Urban Forestry Open House to speak with the community about these efforts. This event will take place in the Bertha Knight Landes room at City Hall (600 4th Avenue) on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with presentations at 6 p.m.
The City is seeking community input on the Urban Forest Management Plan and the Private Property Tree Regulations through October 1, 2012. Read more (PDF) on the proposed updates as well as find contact information.
