The Fresh Bucks 2020 Impact Report is Here!

The Fresh Bucks program, administered by the Office of Sustainability and Environment and funded by the City of Seattle Sweetened Beverage Tax, has announced the release of its 2020 Impact Report.

During an exceptionally challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fresh Bucks was there to help Seattle residents stretch their grocery dollar. Fresh Bucks enrolled more than 12,100 Seattle households to receive $3.2 million in Fresh Bucks benefits to use at 30 participating retailers, including 4 BIPOC-owned community grocers.

Over 70% of all households participating in Fresh Bucks Vouchers were from the program’s priority communities—those populations that face the greatest food insecurity. And 76% of all participants identified as BIPOC. We are so grateful for the outreach and enrollment efforts of our partners: 10 community-based organizations and 7 health clinics that are rooted in BIPOC, immigrant, and refugee communities.

To learn more about how Fresh Bucks and its partners met the needs of program participants last year, see the 2020 Fresh Bucks Impact Report.
