KCD-Seattle Community Partnership Program Awards $413,000 to 7 Organizations in 2023

King Conservation District (KCD) and the City of Seattle announce the recipients of the 2023 KCD-Seattle Community Partnership grant awards. This program invests in community-led initiatives that enhance natural resources and are developed, led by, and benefit people most affected by environmental and climate inequities. These communities include Black, Indigenous, People of Color, immigrants, refugees, individuals with low incomes, youth, and elders.

The program received 30 grant applications from outstanding community organizations requesting over two million dollars in funding, while only $413,000 was available to award. A grant review team, facilitated by the City of Seattle and consisting of both city staff and community members, diligently evaluated each proposal, taking into consideration the grant program goals and selected seven projects for funding.

In 2023, the following community organizations have been awarded KCD-Seattle Community Partnership grants for their projects:
