Just in time for the holidays—the transformation in Georgetown goes live as SDOT Operations implements the Office of Sustainability & Environment’s plan to turn gray to green for two priority Georgetown sites.
The Urban Forestry team installed 16 new street trees in a “depaved” planting strip prepared by Street Maintenance on Corson Avenue South between South Eddy Street and South Warsaw Street on Friday, December 18th. And thanks to Cedar Grove’s generous donation of 100 cubic yards of compost, SDOT was able to amend the soil on an additional block of on west site of East Marginal Way (between BNSF tracks and the street edge bike lane) in order to plant trees there as well.
