Fresh Bucks is a healthy food program that helps Seattle residents afford the fruits and vegetables they need to thrive, and the program recently launched a new blog series that explores the vibrant local businesses that participate in the Fresh Bucks program and make healthy, fresh produce accessible to all members of the community. Check out this preview of the first two posts in the series:
Rainier Valley’s Harameyn Grocery is a welcoming place for one and all
If you’re looking for a selection of fresh or frozen produce owned by one of the friendliest small businesses in town, look no further than Harameyn Halal Grocery. Zamzam Somo, owner of Harameyn’s, has been serving friends and neighbors of Rainier Valley since 2011 and Fresh Bucks customers since 2017.
“Everyone looks forward to being greeted in their native language and feeling at home when they shop – and this is my goal. I know my customers and I understand the challenges they face when it comes to affording healthy food,” says Zamzam, “Fresh Bucks is one of the ways we lift up and support our community, and I am proud to be a long-time program partner.”
