OSE is Hiring for Four Positions: Grants, Operations, Buildings, and More! 

The Seattle Office of Sustainability and Environment (OSE) is hiring! OSE is growing its team to advance Seattle’s fight against climate change, including funding community projects, implementing building emissions reduction policies, and supporting our passionate staff. OSE is looking to fill the four listed positions below.

Building Emissions Reduction Technical Advisor

OSE is recruiting a Building Emissions Reduction Technical Advisor to join the Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS) team. This team is tasked with enforcing the City’s new BEPS legislation, which requires large multifamily and commercial buildings to meet greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets over time. This position requires subject matter expertise in building electrification and decarbonization, knowledge of Seattle’s building market, and collaborative customer service skills. This role will develop content to help building operators meet the City’s BEPS requirements. The Technical Advisor will also discuss compliance options to reach net-zero over time with building owners and managers. Ideal candidates for this role will have significant experience with building sustainability, energy efficiency, electrification retrofits, and energy audits.  

Senior Grants Administrator

OSE is recruiting a Senior Grants Administrator to manage grants and contracts, as well as lead the administration of a five-year, $12 million federal grant. This grant focuses on advancing community-driven urban forestry in Seattle areas with low tree canopy cover, which are most often low-income and overburdened neighborhoods. This position includes leading grant compliance, financial management, contract administration, data analysis, and reporting. The Senior Grants Manager will work directly with community-based organizations and City partners to support compliance with Federal and City policies.  

Operations Manager

OSE is hiring an Operations Manager to provide guidance on office systems, as well as support staff through a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens. This position includes creating an organized and inclusive work culture, facilitating onboarding, and serving as a member of the OSE leadership team. The Operations Manager will act as a hub for office administration, workplace systems and processes, human resources, internal communications, and more.  

Senior Community Granting Specialist

OSE is seeking a Senior Community Granting Specialist to lead contracting and grant reporting, as well as provide assistance for two programs with a combined portfolio of $1.25 million. This position includes working with a team to create outreach strategies to connect community organizations in overburdened neighborhoods with funding for their projects. This role will also support leadership growth among underrepresented groups through the grant review process. This role is key to advancing the One Seattle Climate Justice Agenda and Green New Deal initiatives.
