The City of Seattle and our partners have four grant opportunities available, ranging from increasing food and environmental justice, to reducing climate pollution from buildings. Keep reading to learn if you qualify and how to apply!
Apply by June 3 for Seattle’s Environmental Justice Fund

Seattle’s Environmental Justice (EJ) Fund is accepting applications until June 3! The EJ Fund invests in projects that protect and strengthen communities hit first and worst by environmental inequities and climate change, like extreme weather, air pollution, and floods.
Tribes and tribal organizations, nonprofits, and community groups can apply for one of three funding options, with grants ranging from $10,000 to $90,000, and one option specifically for Duwamish Valley programming. Projects include community education, arts and storytelling, capacity building, and more.

Apply for a Building Decarbonization Grant by July 10

We’re accepting applications for Seattle’s Building Decarbonization Grants through July 10! OSE may award up to $4 million to help owners of buildings serving communities overburdened by climate change — like nonprofits, senior and affordable housing, and others — reduce pollution through building upgrades or engineering support.
Funding will also help buildings meet future emissions reduction targets set by Seattle’s Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS). Under BEPS, most large buildings will need to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

KCD Seattle Community Partnership Grant Open Through July 14

OSE and King Conservation District (KCD) are accepting applications for the 2025 Seattle Community Partnership Grant Program through July 14! The program invests in natural resource improvements led by or co-developed with communities disproportionately impacted by environmental injustices and systemic racism.
This year, $700,000 in grant funding is available. Eligible projects focus on natural resource improvement, including building an equitable and sustainable food system, managing stormwater runoff, improving soil health, and more.

First Come, First Served – Food Equity Starter Fund Open Through July 31

Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods is accepting applications for the Food Equity Starter Fund through July 31 or until funding runs out. The Food Equity Fund has two opportunities – one application closed earlier this year, but you can still apply for the Starter Fund. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so apply sooner rather than later!
The Fund invests in community contributions creating a more equitable and sustainable local food system, led by those who experience the most food and health inequities, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, refugees, youth, elders, and people with low incomes. Funding ranges from $5,000 to $25,000.
